January was a whirlwind. Like many, I spent most of the month sick, in desperate need of tending to my immune & nervous system, revisiting the medicine of fire amidst a burning world, forcing myself to slow down & rest so I can muster the energy to continue fundraising, and reprioritizing in person connections over the digital, especially within local groups where I felt I had something to contribute.

Toward the tail end of last year, I started volunteering & staffing at Interference Archive.
‘The mission of Interference Archive is to explore the relationship between cultural production and social movements. This work manifests in an open stacks archival collection, publications, a study center, and public programs including exhibitions, workshops, talks, and screenings, all of which encourage critical and creative engagement with the rich history of social movements.’
Prior to this, I was already learning about creative reconstruction, mapping the archive, exploring silences within them, counter archival practices, anarchiving, insurgencies/counterinsurgencies, contextual genealogy & community memory work. Someday I’ll share snippets from these research rabbit holes but today I wanted to invite you to a free event we’ve been planning. If you’re in Brooklyn, New York please join us this weekend:
We’ll be hosting a panel featuring cultural workers advocating for Palestine in New York. The event will be hosted at Interference Archive on Saturday February 15th from 6-8pm.
The conversation will be streamed live at The Wonder Cabinet in Bethlehem and globally on Radio AlHara, moderated by Stefan Christoff of Free City Radio. Stefan has hosted similar discussions this past year in Brussels, Amsterdam, Mexico City, and Lisbon.
There are some amazing artists on the panel including:
Lianah (Theater Workers for a Ceasefire)

We hope you can make it so you can explore the archival materials, meet the artists, engage in this rich discussion, and browse some of the zines/books we’ll have in the space.

If you’re not in New York, then I’ll eventually share the recording online. In the meantime, tune in to some audio interference.
